What is a travel solution?

Contact lens solution is essential for all two weekly or monthly contact lens wearers who need to clean, disinfect and store their lenses. Most multi-purpose contact lens solutions will come in a one month’s supply bottle of around 250-300ml. They are often also available in a two (twin pack) or three (triple pack) months’ supply.

This can make travelling abroad with your contact lens solution difficult due to airport restrictions on the amount of liquids that can be taken on a plane. Bottles of solution larger than 100ml are inconvenient to carry around and do not comply with current airline cabin luggage restrictions. A travel solution is a smaller sized version of a standard bottle of contact lens solution. Most manufacturers will make travel-sized bottles of their solutions, with a usual capacity of 60ml to 100ml.
